The Bay Tree Villa - Almyrida
The Bay Tree Villa is a spacious 5-bedroom villa set above the stunning beach of Almyrida, in a peaceful setting with breathtaking views of the sea and the White Mountains. The property offers air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a private pool, BBQ area, pizza oven, and several outdoor seating areas surrounded by flowering gardens — perfect for following the sun or the shade throughout the day.
Two living spaces: Main House + Apartment
The villa consists of a Main House and a separate ground-floor Apartment:
The Main House – 5 Guests – 3 Bedrooms
Arriving at the Main House, you’re welcomed by a long, covered terrace overlooking the garden, the pool table area and one of the outdoor dining spaces — a great spot to settle in and enjoy the surroundings.
Inside, the house opens into a bright, open-plan living area combining the kitchen, dining and lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped for your stay and includes a washing machine. The dining table comfortably seats six, while the living area features two comfortable sofas and a large flat-screen TV. From here, you can step out onto the L-shaped terrace balcony with beautiful views over Almyrida and Souda Bay. The outdoor seating is perfect for morning coffee, and the al fresco dining area is ideal for breakfast in the fresh air.
Along the hallway you’ll find the bedrooms and bathrooms. The main bedroom offers a king-size bed, an en-suite shower room and a private sea-view balcony. The twin room has two single beds and a balcony overlooking the garden, while the single bedroom enjoys mountain views from its balcony. A spacious family bathroom with a large vanity completes the layout.
All bedrooms provide generous storage with floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and drawers. Throughout the Main House, every room is fitted with air conditioning, ceiling fans, fly screens and blackout shutters for comfort at any time of day.
The Apartment (ground floor) – 5 Guests – 2 Bedrooms
Located on the ground floor, the apartment is ideal for guests with limited mobility. Step inside through the sliding patio doors into a warm, comfortable living area with a sofa, two armchairs and a large flat-screen TV. The space flows into a fully equipped dining kitchen, perfect for relaxed meals at home. From here, you can step out into a private, secluded courtyard — a quiet spot to unwind.
Off the dining area you’ll find the triple bedroom, furnished with a double bed and a small double bed, plus generous wardrobe space. The main bedroom opens from the left side of the living room and features a super king-size bed, plenty of storage, and patio doors with views over the pool. To the right of the living area is a spacious bathroom, which also includes a washing machine.
The living room and main bedroom are air-conditioned, while the triple bedroom is cooled by a ceiling fan. All windows and doors are fitted with fly screens and blackout shutters for comfort and a restful night’s sleep.
Outside, the apartment opens directly onto the patio area, making it easy to enjoy indoor–outdoor living throughout your stay.
Outdoor living
The villa’s outdoor living area is designed for relaxed al fresco dining and entertaining. Under a large pergola you’ll find a spacious barbecue area, a generous dining table for the whole group, and a comfortable lounge area — all with beautiful views of the sea and the White Mountains.
The swimming pool measures 6 x 3.5 metres, with a depth of 1.2 metres at the shallow end, gradually increasing to 1.4 metres at the deeper end. Sun loungers, coffee tables and parasols are provided, making it easy to unwind in the Cretan sunshine.
On the garden terrace you’ll also find the pool table and an additional shaded dining area with a parasol. The driveway offers parking for several vehicles, including two spaces under a shaded canopy, and the property is accessed via electric gates.
Flexible rental — always exclusive
You can rent only the Main House, only the Apartment, or the full villa (both together).
Either way, you are always the only guests on the property — no shared areas with other renters.
Almyrida
Almyrida is a charming seaside resort located in the beautiful Apokoronas region of Crete. It is known for its peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for families and couples alike.
The village offers two sandy beaches and one pebble beach. The sandy beaches are fully organised with sunbeds, umbrellas and showers. Both the beach and the sea are exceptionally clean, and the water is shallow for a long distance – perfect for young children to enjoy the sea safely.
For those seeking a more active experience, a local dive centre and rental services offer surfboards, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, catamarans and pedal boats – everything you need to enhance your time by the sea.
The beachfront promenade features more than 15 tavernas and restaurants serving traditional Cretan cuisine as well as international dishes. From fine dining to casual take-away options, there is something to suit every taste. Many of the restaurants are located directly by the water, allowing you to enjoy your meal accompanied by the soothing sound of the waves.
In addition to restaurants, you will find a variety of shops, cafés, a bakery, a pharmacy and several mini-markets providing everything required for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. ATMs are conveniently available in the village.
If you wish to explore Crete independently, local car rental agencies offer cars, scooters and motorcycles.
Chania International Airport is approximately 30 km away and can be reached in about 35 minutes by car. Heraklion International Airport is located about 130 km from Almyrida.

Excellent all round. Ten of us, 6 adults and 4 children hired the whole place and had a fantastic 10 days. We were nervous as there were no other reviews on here but it was better than we expected. It was clearly a once loved family home and had everything you could need- even a lime tree and mint bush for cocktails! It makes a huge difference when the host has lived in the rental and they knew what we’d want. Very kind host - replied to our daft questions immediately and had wonderful recommendations for places to visit and eat at.
I would recommend having a car when you visit or some good walking shoes for the hill on the walk back up!
The beach in the village was the best we came across on our trip- you don’t have to go far afield. We loved that there was a diverse mix of tourists here - not just English - and even better, the locals were all so kind and seemed to love having us there. Between 10 of us, we struggled to think of anything that would have made it better! Thanks! X
We had the best week at Bay Tree Villa. The location and setting was great, walkable to the beach and lots of great restaurants.
The view is incredible, sunset and outdoor dining was a winner for us.
The pool is just perfect, having the beautiful gardens and pool table to also use was great for the kids.
The apartment had everything we needed, gorgeous shower and immaculately clean.
We can’t fault the place and highly recommended mark and Sandra as hosts.
They couldn’t have been more kind and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone and also the idea of being able to rent the whole house with others is tempting us back next year for sure.

We are required to collect and remit the tourism tax in accordance with Greek law 5073/2023. This tax amounts to 15 EUR per night and must be paid in addition to the prices mentioned above.
